MACROKIOSK is proud to champion the true spirit of ‘Ciptaan Malaysia’ with its homegrown products, solutions, talents and development of digital technology to drive the nation’s digital economy.
“This new economic landscape of Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) will be driven by technology and most importantly, innovation. In order to provide for ‘Kemakmuran Bersama’ in this new landscape, we need more companies such as MACROKIOSK in Malaysia to drive innovation while providing interesting job opportunities for our youth,” says YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia during an official visitation to MACROKIOSK’s founding office in Kuala Lumpur. “MACROKIOSK is the true embodiment of ‘Ciptaan Malaysia’ as it demonstrates that Malaysian innovation can be on par with – or even surpass – those in more developed countries.”
Officially founded in year 2000 by three Malaysian brothers, namely Dato’ Kenny Goh, Dato’ Henry Goh and Mr CS Goh, MACROKIOSK began operations as a three-person startup to become one of Asia’s leading digital technology companies supported by a team of over 250 multinational employees serving more than 2000 clients in 37 countries spanning 18 industries.
MACROKIOSK was one of the first batches of digital companies in Malaysia to receive MSC Pioneer status from the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in 2001, and it subsequently joined the Global Acceleration & Innovation Network (GAIN) program under the purview of MDEC in 2015.
“We take great pride in the fact that MACROKIOSK is created in Malaysia by Malaysians. All our digital products and solutions, which are conceptualised, innovated and created by Malaysian talents, now serve millions of users worldwide on a daily basis,” says Dato’ Kenny Goh, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, MACROKIOSK Group. “It is our vision to continue to champion ‘Ciptaan Malaysia’ and play an active role to help drive the nation’s digital economy roadmap as well as the global digital marketplace.”
The key focus of MACROKIOSK’s solutions is to provide Digitalisation Platform as-a-Service (DPaaS) delivered through its BOLD suite of products in the areas of notification, engagement and payment. Its solutions penetrate up to 90% of Malaysian digital usage with its two-way notification solutions via BOLD.Console, which delivers services such as transaction verification and notification. MACROKIOSK also powers more than 40 financial institutions across Asia with its proprietary OTP (One-time Password) solutions, namely BOLD.Key, which plays a significant role in terms of authentication for online banking transactions.
MACROKIOSK provides a comprehensive payment platform named BOLD.Pay to offer dynamic billing options, convenient payment collections and a secure borderless merchant-consumer relationship. At the same time, MACROKIOSK’s engagement platform, BOLD.Tag offers an inclusive approach towards technology usages with the incorporation of data analytics, customer relationship management (CRM) and soon-to-be-introduced artificial intelligent (AI) features which are best suited for small-medium industries to embrace the digital economy.
During the official visitation, YB Gobind Singh Deo delivered his keynote speech during a townhall session to more than 200 MACROKIOSK employees who are based in the Kuala Lumpur founding office, which consist of a young, gender-balanced workface of highly-skilled talents in the digital industry.
YB Gobind Singh Deo was also given an experiential tour of the founding office named The Space, which spans 21,000 square feet of prime space in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre. Having undergone a recent expansion exercise, The Space is designed as a forward-thinking, engaging and collaborative space for both the talents and the development of digital solutions to encourage innovation and creativity.
The minister’s visitation is in conjunction with MACROKIOSK’s 19th anniversary celebration this month as it cements its status as a business icon in digital technology with an upward trajectory of 25% year-over-year revenue growth with the highest recorded revenue of RM255 million in FY2018. MACROKIOSK is committed to continue to set high standards and scale new heights in the digital technology industry with the full support of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia along with MDEC.
