MACROKIOSK expands further in Asia

Home-grown SMS technology enabler Macro Kiosk Bhd has expanded its presence to three more countries in Asia, bringing the total number to 10.

Speaking at a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 7, its chief executive officer Kenny Goh said it had established direct links to all mobile operators in the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

“With direct connectivity to every mobile operator in the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam, we can truly call ourselves Your Mobile Messaging Gateway to Asia,” said Goh.

The company now has physical presence in Bangkok, Beijing, Brunei, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila, Singapore and Taipei. He said the company expected to double its overseas contribution by the end of next year, from the present 20% to 30% of total revenue.

Marco Kiosk is also looking at markets in countries such as Australia, the Middle East, South Africa, India and Latin America. “We are growing at a pace of three markets every year,” said Goh.

Marco Kiosk was one of Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2005 winners in which it was identified as the fifth fastest-growing technology company in Malaysia and the 25th fastest-growing in the Asia-Pacific.

“We achieved a 1,500% revenue growth from 2003 to 2005 with a net profit of RM2 million for 2005 on the back of RM38 million revenue,” said Macro Kiosk chief operating officer Henry Goh.

Through its locally developed e-tracker technology, Macro Kiosk is globally connected to 364 telcos in 115 countries.
