Green Packet Bhd, MOL AccessPortal Bhd and N2N Connect Bhd are among 24 Malaysian information and communications technology (ICT) companies that have made it into Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2006 rankings.

They have cumulatively posted an average revenue growth of 399% over the last three years.

Real Data Matrix Sdn Bhd was the highest ranked Malaysian company at seventh place. The others on the list are Macro Kiosk Bhd, Stemlife Bhd, Mobif Bhd, K-One Technology Bhd and CWorks Systems Bhd.

The United Kingdom Trade & Investment is the exclusive sponsor of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific.

British High Commissioner to Malaysia Boyd McCleary said the success of these companies was in line with the government’s goal to make ICT a key growth area for the country’s economy.

He said the United Kingdom had become a premier investment destination for ICT companies in Asia Pacific due to the availability of expertise for high value research and development, science and innovative design there.

Speaking at a luncheon for the 24 companies in Kuala Lumpur on Jan 29, he said local companies were invited to work with the United Kingdom Trade & Investment as it could identify suitable partners in the UK.

The United Kingdom Trade & Investment director at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Gordon Reid, said the organisation had in the past given assistance to Malaysian firms, HT Consulting Group and Bill Adam Associates Sdn Bhd, to establish successful operations in the UK.

“The Malaysian companies featured in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 are exactly the sort of companies we believe the UK could help grow their businesses,” Reid added.
