MACROKIOSK Berhad (MACROKIOSK), one of the world's leading mobile technology enablers, has officially set up shop here in Malaysia.

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the office, which is aptly known as 'The Space', officially adds Malaysia to its already large list of countries in which the company has a presence. These countries also include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Officiating the office’s official opening was YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of Finance for Malaysia. The opening was then punctuated by a short speech by Henry Goh, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of MACROKIOSK.

“As a company that powers mobile technology solutions for a diverse range of customers, we wanted to create an environment that would spur innovation and collaboration,” Henry said. “It is also part of our strategy to attract and develop local talent, which in our case is predominantly Gen-Y. Ultimately we believe the investment will help us provide even better solutions and top notch service to our customers.”

To give our readers a brief history of the country: MACROKIOSK was founded back 14 years ago back in the year 2000, with the singular belief that mobile phones and its technology would become the next wave that would take over the role of a PC, as well as reshape the way that consumers would use the Internet.

To be more specific, the company is responsible for having developed many programs, protocols and applications that we would easily take for granted, yet we use in our everyday lives. We are talking about mobile transactions, one-time security keys, Internet banking or even SMS confirmation system, which informs a consumer when and if their credit card is being used or a transaction has been completed under their name.

To this end, the company has worked very closely with Bank Negara Malaysia, which also explains why YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong was the guest of honor who officiated the opening of the office.

“MACROKIOSK is in the business of creating mobile technology solutions that are not only tailored to our customers upon deployment, but also evolve with our customers’ needs. Similarly, the new office demonstrates our commitment to creating a work environment that evolves to meet the needs of our diverse tam. So far, the feedback has been positive, and we will also continue to improve the work environment regionally,” Henry further commented.
